Summer opera lunchtime concert in Greenwich

Join us for this free concert of opera extracts. The recital will feature much loved highlights from the repertoire, including Gershwin’s Summertime and Rossini’s Barber of Seville. Between stories of romance and intrigue, a very famous wicked witch will also be featured! With Alicia Mallace–Goulbourne and Hannah Wardrop St. Alfege Church is in the heart of Greenwich, minutes walk from the Cutty Sark and the National Maritime Museum. Mozart – “Elvira Madigan” concerto

This November, I am delighted to be performing one of Mozart’s most famous piano concertos. This concert is with the Edwards Ensemble conducted by Nigel Edwards. The second movement of the concerto, a dream-like meditation, is well known because it was used in “Elvira Madigan”. The film explores the relationship between a famous Danish circus performer and an army lieutenant. (It does not have a happy ending!) Here is an example from the film on YouTube. The concert will also include a performance of Mozart’s Requiem with Fordingbridge Choral Society.
