An exciting, lyrical and witty CD of piano music by Robert Ely is out, featuring the Cook and Stanley piano duo and myself. I hope my first ever CD will do justice to Robert’s music! I was honoured to be chosen by Robert for this recording.

Franz Schubert’s personal life was a tragic disaster. He was often an awkward, lonely outsider. What strikes me about Schubert is how his personal tragedy clashes with escapism: his harmonies are so pure and his melodies seem to stretch on for ever.
