Stasis in darkness
Then the substanceless blue
Pour of tor and darkness. Sylvia Plath: Ariel

This work has been withdrawn but if anyone wants to play it, I'm happy to revise it.

Sylvia Plath's magical and volatile poem Ariel inspired this much humbler composition for wind trio. I've perhaps added a note of raucous humour in the babbling flute, besides the eerie, bizarre sound of multiphonics. The players sing a pitch while also playing their instrument, which can produce a second pitch.
