The Naughty Nineties Music Hall
· Mary Ward Centre, Southwark: Ground Floor hall
I will once again be performing for The Naughty Nineties as they present their Christmas show. Featuring a selection of the period’s greatest hits, it will be introduced by their very own gavel-wielding Master of Ceremonies. Back in days before radio, TV and the internet the stars of Britain’s Music Halls – such as Marie Lloyd and Dan Leno - were household names. The songs they sang became part of popular culture and many are still well known today. Here's an example of what music hall sounds like: The Naughty Nineties are dedicated to preserving this important slice of our heritage and they regularly appear across London and the south-east. Their shows are performed in period costume and singing along is actively encouraged! Tickets: £5 cash donation on the door The show is held at the Mary Ward Centre, an adult further education college. It has different campuses and this one is in Southwark. How to get there 🚇 Southwark: Jubilee (step-free access) 🚇🚂 Waterloo: Bakerloo, Northern, Jubilee, Waterloo & City, South Western Railway (some step-free access) 🚂 Waterloo East: Southeastern 🚇🚂 Blackfriars: Circle, District, Thameslink (step-free access). 20 mins walk 🚶🏻♀️, or take the 40 or 63 bus 🚌 🚌 Bus 40 or 63: Pocock Street Content This show may contain 🚨 flashing lights, occasional adult humor, and some loud noises. Watch me play
Collaborative pianist
As an accompanist and chamber musician, I help other people perform at their best. The piano playing can be just as demanding as solo repertoire!
I like to think of myself as supportive and non-judgemental – someone who helps other musicians when the unexpected happens. I often work with singers and wind players.
I also love solo piano music and have performed in London, Lancashire, Poole, Norfolk, Sweden, Romania and more... I’ve been kindly supported by the Marjorie and Dorothy White Trust and the Henry Wood Award.
Composer
My music is an ambigious mix of old and new. I like to be inventive, challenging, and sometimes have very bizarre ideas. Through all of that I’m still searching for something expressive, relatable and personal.
